Abstract
This paper describes the solar pumping system in the rural areas of Bangladesh where electricity is unavailable. Solar pumping system is essential in remote areas and also where grid connection is unreachable. Solar pumping systems become popular in village areas because of its low operating cost, low maintenance, easy installation and long life. Also, the paper depicts current power generation scenario in Bangladesh and potential for power production using photovoltaic panels. Meanwhile to investigate the data, the focus has been to estimate the northern regions and then analysed the characteristics of the conventional irrigation. Net present value and internal rate of return methods have been used to analysis the feasibility study of the solar pumping systems
